Torres x Salah x Trent Liverpool clip goes viral: 'He'd score 50'
A clip from Liverpool’s training ground featuring Fernando Torres, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold caught people’s attention on Friday night.
Fernando Torres is back at Liverpool, having flown back to Merseyside to be around training this weekend. The Spaniard was at a first-team training session on Friday, while he'll also spend time seeing the academy and then watch Liverpool vs Brighton on Easter Sunday.
Torres, who is currently Atletico Madrid's Under 19 boss, starred for the Reds at the Legends game last weekend. The former no.9 scored on his 'return', grabbing a few headlines in the process.
And now he's managed to grab some more as a clip of Torres with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold did the rounds on Friday night.
Torres and Salah and Alexander-Arnold
Torres was seen talking with Salah when Alexander-Arnold walked up, prompting the Spaniard to ask if he was back training. The Scouser said he was, to which Salah interjects to tell his teammate that Torres 'is fitter than you are'.
Alexander-Arnold shot back by claiming Torres 'was better' than Salah.
"If he plays with me, he scores 50. You play with me and you score 20," the right-back claimed.
"I would like somebody who, when I cross, scores," Alexander-Arnold then told Torres. "He [Salah] doesn't score when I cross."
The clip did the rounds on X - naturally bringing up talk of just how good Torres would be with Alexander-Arnold supplying him (very good, is the answer).
Liverpool's video then showed Torres standing with Jurgen Klopp in the rain at training. The German is clearly explaining some concepts to the former striker.
Torres is embarking on his managerial career, much as several from that 2008/09 Liverpool side have done. Few have had great success, it should be said, though Xabi Alonso has certainly bucked the trend.
And perhaps Torres can be something similar. His work with Atletico's youth team has him on a similar path to Alonso - maybe he too can see himself linked with the Anfield job down the line.
