"To be honest" - Glen Johnson on Liverpool's top four hopes

Pundit Glen Johnson has given his verdict on Liverpool's top four hopes.

The Reds have had a slow start to the 2022-23 Premier League campaign. Liverpool have only accumulated 10 points from a possible 24.

However, Johnson is confident that the Reds will secure a top four finish. But, the 38-year-old has warned Liverpool that the season could be gone before they know it.

"To be honest, I’d expect them to get top four quite comfortably. Obviously, the games come thick and fast and you need to find some form. There’s always been some surprises, like Arsenal for example," he told the Liverpool Echo, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

"I don’t think anyone would have predicted how well they’ve been playing. You have to be careful because the games come quick and fast, and if they don’t start picking up the points and get the momentum going soon, then it could be an issue.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We completely agree with Johnson's opinion. Yes, Liverpool have had a slow start to the season.

But, the reality is, the Reds competed for the quadruple last season. Liverpool are one of the best teams in the world when things are going well.

So, we are confident that Jurgen Klopp's team will bounce back and secure a top four finish. Liverpool have looked decent at certain stages of the season.

They just haven't been able to put together a solid run of performances. Only time will tell if the Reds are to finish inside the top four.
