Three Liverpool stars included in EA Sports FC 24 top-rated players

After weeks of speculation and leaks, EA Sports have officially released a list of the top-rated players in FC 24.

In case you've been living under a rock, FC 24 will mark the first rebranded version of EA's video game franchise (formerly known as FIFA) since the company failed to agree a licensing deal with football's governing body.

Don't worry though, the name may be different, but pretty much everything else appears to be unchanged, with thousands of clubs, players, leagues and stadiums etc all agreeing their own licensing deals with EA.

And like with the old FIFA games, among the most hotly anticipated things about FC 24 are the player ratings.

EA have now announced the top 24 footballers (male and female) in the game, with a full list of ratings to follow on Friday, 15 September.

This year, four stars share the top rating of 91 (Manchester City duo Kevin de Bruyne and Erling Haaland, alongside Kylian Mbappe and Barelona women's star Alexia Putellas).

A trio of Reds have been included in the top 12 male footballers and there are no prizes for guessing who.

Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have all been given the overall rating of 89.

The number represents a continuation of the status quo for all three Liverpool stars who have experienced no change from their FIFA 23 overall ratings.

Interestingly, no defender is rated higher than Liverpool captain Van Dijk – though Ruben Dias is also on 89 – while Alisson is second only to Thibaut Courtois (90) for goalkeepers.

While fans will have to wait just a few more days to find out the scores for the rest of the players, there have been leaks which suggest a poor 2022/23 season will have a negative impact on how Liverpool's team stacks up.

Eagled-eyed fans who watched EA's Career Mode deep dive trailer back in August spotted the Liverpool squad on display – with precious few Reds receiving any kind of upgrade.
