Thiago will not be moving to Turkey, with the midfielder's agent shutting down talk of a transfer before the Super Lig's window closes.

While the transfer window for most European clubs shut at the start of the month, clubs in Turkey remain able to register new signings until Friday, 15 September.

Throughout the summer, Thiago was linked with an exit amid the midfield overhaul at Anfield.

Spain, Turkey and the Saudi Pro League were all tipped as possible destinations for the 32-year-old midfielder, who still has a year left to run on his Liverpool contract.

It was Anfield Watch's understanding that Liverpool would listen to offers for Thiago as Jurgen Klopp and the club hierarchy reshaped the squad, but ultimately nothing happened.

However, talk of Thiago's possible exit flared up again in recent days ahead of Turkey's transfer deadline day.

It was reported in the Turkish press that 2021/22 Super Lig winners Trabzonspor were prepared to make an offer for the former Barcelona star, while Takvim claim that Fenerbahce could make a bid worth over £4m.

Meanwhile, AS even claimed that the playmaker 'wants to leave'.

However, Thiago's agent has now shut down any speculation that an eleventh-hour deal could still be pushed through before the weekend.

Alex Boesch told Sports Digitale: "My partner Jordi went to Istanbul for a holiday. Thiago will not play in Turkey."

Thiago, who has not yet played a minute in 2023/24, is currently out injured and not expected to return to action until the end of the month.

The former Bayern Munich star's last start for Liverpool came back in February during the 3-0 Premier League defeat to Wolves.

One of Liverpool's top earners on a reported £200k a week basic pay, Thiago is now expected to leave Anfield at the end of his four-year contract, which will expire next summer.

In a recent vote, despite his injury problems, Anfield Watch fans selected Thiago as one of their preferred midfield three options when all players are fit and available, showing how highly rated he remains among supporters.
