"They didn't stop running" - Thierry Henry on Liverpool against Ajax

Pundit Thierry Henry has praised Liverpool for their performance against Ajax at Anfield last night.

The Reds secured a 2-1 victory over the Dutch side to secure their first victory of the 2022 Champions League group stage.

Mohamed Salah gave Liverpool the lead after 17 minutes of action. But, Mohammed Kudus equalised for Ajax shortly after.

However, Joel Matip scored the winning goal in the dying moments of the clash. Henry was impressed with how Jurgen Klopp's team played against Ajax.

“You expect that from Liverpool, especially attacking the Kop end. In all fairness, they didn't stop. They didn't stop running," he told CBS Sports, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.

“They didn't stop believing and when you're in this type of situation like Jamie (Carragher) said and when you're on a bad run, it seems like nothing goes your way. But they didn't give up. That's the most important thing.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool have had a really poor start to the season. But, the Reds looked much better last night.

Liverpool certainly have room for improvement. However, the team pressed as a unit and showed a bit of end product when it mattered most.

Hopefully Liverpool can kick on and finish the remainder of the season strongly. But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.

On another note, Liverpool's Premier League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday has been postponed due to the Queen's funeral.
