Liverpool legend Graeme Souness has praised Jurgen Klopp's dynamic full-back duo Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson.

When it comes to full-backs, Liverpool have two of the world's best in Robertson and Alexander-Arnold.

The Scotland Captain currently has 12 assists this campaign. Meanwhile, his Scouse counterpart has an impressive 17 assists, breaking his previous best of 16 assists and we're only in March.

Speaking to Sky Sports, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Souness talked about the pair and said how they're basically midfield players in Klopp's Liverpool system.

“Andy Robertson has high energy, he hasn’t got the same delivery as Trent, but they’re basically midfield players. These lads are the two best ones around,” said Souness.

“If you’re a striker, you know if he’s [Alexander-Arnold] on the ball, any sort of movement and he’s going to find you.”

The former Liverpool midfielder and manager also credited Alexander-Arnold as the reason why the Reds are scoring so many goals this season.

“The reason Liverpool are top goal scorers is they’ve got him [Alexander-Arnold] in the team. Great delivery, he passes the ball like very few people can, even at this high level,” said the former Liverpool midfielder.

ā€œIn golf terms, heā€™s got every single club. He can do whatever he wants with a football.ā€

ā€œIn the final third, nine times out of 10 heā€™s making the right choice.ā€

Anfield Watch Verdict

Alexander-Arnold isn't just the best full-back in world football, he's one of the best players.

He can do it all. It's a cliche at this point but he really is a midfielder playing at right-back.

The fact he is only 23-years-old is a very scary prospect indeed. At his young age, he is already one of, if not the best right-back in Premier League history.
