The players who could still leave Liverpool on Deadline Day

There are few summers in Liverpool's history that have been so busy in terms of outgoings.

However, there still could be movement before the window slams shut at 23:00 BST on Friday 1 September.

The Reds have already parted ways with their club captain Jordan Henderson, vice-captain James Milner, some of the club's best players over the past five years in Roberto Firmino and Fabinho, as well as the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Fabio Carvalho.

While the focus remains on Liverpool's last-minute arrivals (hello Ryan Gravenberch!), the club's last-minute departures is just as interesting with plenty of players potentially leaving before the deadline.

Here's all the players who could still make a switch away from Merseyside with the clock ticking.

Melkamu Frauendorf

The Germany youth international is another name heavily rumoured to be on the way out of Anfield in search of first-team minutes, with the highly-rated 19-year-old reportedly not short of suitors.

Frauendorf is likely to leave Liverpool on loan before the window closes, with various Bundesliga clubs interested in securing his services, according to Neil Jones.

Mateusz Musialowski

Once dubbed the 'Polish Messi', Musialowski may be set to depart from the club after an underwhelming season in the youth setups.

Reports arlier this summer that the 19-year-old is attracting significant interest from a number of clubs in his home nation of Poland as well as in Austria.

It is said that Liverpool will not stand in the winger's way if an acceptable bid was received.

Luke Chambers

Liverpool's 19-year-old full back Chambers has been subject to loan talk for weeks now, with former Liverpool great Xabi Alonso reportedly being interested in signing the defender for Bayer Leverkusen since July.

Chambers missed out on both the Singapore and Germany legs of Liverpool's pre-season, suggesting Jurgen Klopp doesn't see him as part of this season's plans.

However, as reported by David Lynch, Swansea have now joined the race to sign the promising youngster on a temporary basis. Although there isn't much time left to make a deal, the likelihood here is that Chambers does play the 2023/24 campaign elsewhere.

Tyler Morton and Bobby Clark

Both Morton and Clark have been linked with loan moves for large portions of the summer, as the pair search for experience at senior level. However, a recent development from Neil Jones suggests that the Englishmen will be kept at Merseyside this season as cover.

The pair have had substantial loan interest from clubs across the English football pyramid and wider Europe – most notably from Hull City in Morton's case – but it seems the pair may now be kept at Liverpool for depth.

Clark was very impressive when given the opportunity in preseason, while Morton plays in a highly sought-after position for Liverpool and is coming off the back of a stellar season with Blackburn Rovers.

Jarell Quansah

Quansah is the latest to be linked with a move away from Liverpool in the final days of the window, but a switch – even on a temporary basis – seems unlikely to say the least.

When given the opportunities during pre-season, the 20-year-old looked like a man-mountain with the potential to one day make it as a starting centre-back for the Reds.

While a season-long outing wouldn't be the worst thing for the Englishman's development, Liverpool are incredibly light in defence (he is currently one of three fit and available centre-halves at the club) and even after Virgil van Dijk returns from suspension and Ibrahima Konate from injury, the towering young defender will undoubtably still get minutes for Liverpool's first-team this season.

Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez

Finally, in case there was any lingering doubt amongst fans going into the final day of the transfer window, Konate, Joe Gomez and (of course) Mohamed Salah will not be going anywhere before the transfer window closes, despite reported Saudi interest.

Liverpool have statistically the smallest first-team squad in the Premier League right now, and it is very, very unlikely that the club would sanction anymore departures for first-team players, especially players as important to Liverpool as the three mentioned.
