“The little Egyptian will benefit from Nunez" - Robbie Fowler on Mohamed Salah

Former Liverpool forward Robbie Fowler believes that Reds forward Mohamed Salah will benefit from the arrival of Darwin Nunez.

The club sold Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of £28.80 million earlier this summer. Liverpool ended up replacing the winger with Nunez.

Fowler has recently explained why Salah will enjoy playing with the Uruguayan.

He told the Mirror the following: “The little Egyptian will benefit from Nunez. Mane was fantastic for (Jurgen) Klopp’s team. But Nunez will give the Reds another dimension in the way he leads the line, holds the ball up and brings a physicality that hasn’t been there previously."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Salah from Roma for a transfer fee of £37.80 million back in the summer of 2017.

Since then, the winger has gone on to score 158 goals and register 65 assists in 256 appearances for the club's first-team.

Salah has secured three Premier League Golden Boots during his time at Anfield. So, imagine how good the 30-year-old will be if Nunez can take the Egyptian international's game to another level.

Salah and Nunez have started the Premier League season well. Both forwards found the back of the net during Liverpool's opening game of the campaign against Fulham at Craven Cottage last Saturday.

On another note, Salah signed a new deal this summer. His contract expires in the summer of 2025. The Anfield faithful will be able to sit back and watch the forward represent the club for at least a few more years.

We wish him all the very best for the remainder of the season.
