Liverpool list of missing players is substantial

Liverpool's trip to Arsenal in the EFL Cup on Thursday night is very much in doubt with a list of players missing that appears to be only growing at the moment.

The Reds have formally submitted a request to the EFL for the game to be postponed, after the latest round of covid testing produced a further swathe of positive results that included more players and coaching staff including second in command Pep Lijnders.

This, combined with the fact Jurgen Klopp remains in isolation with a number of other players already revealed and a host of injuries and international call-ups has made our squad look suddenly very thin on the ground indeed, and we'll soon see whether the request for postponement is granted.

Currently, this is the list of players missing - though it is actually even bigger as those to have tested positive most recently are not yet known - as per the Mail:

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's not a pretty sight at the moment and you can see why the Reds have requested the postponement that they have given the nature of both their covid predicament and their injuries.

Coaches and players would be missing on Thursday night and it's hard to say which senior players would actually make the pitch in this current situation.

Hopefully, the match will be postponed and the Reds can try and regroup in the next week or so, with the game against Shrewsbury in the FA Cup surely at risk this weekend of postponement as well right now.
