We exclusively revealed that the club's Global Talent Scouting Manager, Kyle Woodbanks has jetted out to the tournament, which is a sign there could be movement on the transfer front.

It is not known who exactly Woodbanks has flown out to see. But there are several possibilities with an abundance of young talent catching the eye.

Some have even been on Liverpool's radar in the past.

Anfield Watch takes a look at five players who Liverpool will be closely monitoring at this tournament.

Franco Mastantuono

The Argentine midfielder is one of the youngest at the tournament at 17 years old. He has previously been linked with a record breaking move to Anfield.

Despite his age, he has already played 41 first team games for River Plate. Not bad for a teenager.

Technically gifted, he's very astute midfielder who can play as a no.10 as well and even out wide on the right flank.

It's a strong possibility Liverpool are keeping a close eye on him. He's yet to be signed by another Premier League giant, unlike a lot of players at the tournament and he's probably one of the biggest talents in the competition.

It would make sense if Woodbanks flew out to take a closer look at him.

Rayan

A tall and quick attacker, Rayan has been linked with Liverpool in the past. He's left footed which makes him quite an interest prospect for Liverpool especially since he can play as a right winger.

He's played a total of 1635 minutes for Vasco de Gama's first team so far and has scored just three goals which is not exactly prolific.

He can play centrally as well as forward and he has been quite prolific at youth level. For Brazil's U17 team, Rayan managed 11 goal contributions in 14 appearances, including three goals in five matches at the U17 World Cup.

Still only 18 years old, he is a profile who would fit Liverpool well.

Keny Arroyo

From one right-winger to another, although Arroyo is much more than that. He's practically played everywhere in his career so far and has proven to be very industrious.

The left-footed player has often played as a right-back and a right-wing back for Independiente del Valle. But sometimes he has slotted in at central midfield, even pushed to the left flank and he's done well in every position.

So far at just 18 years old he has made 44 appearances for the first team, scoring five goals and registering eight assists.

He began this tournament with a goal and an assist against Bolivia, so he's starting things off in great form.

Independiente del Valle have developed some massive talents recently like Moises Caicedo, Kendry Paez and Pierro Hincapie.

Arroyo is next. Also, keep an eye out on his teammate Deinner Ordóñez, who is just 15 years old and he is the youngest player at the tournament and the youngest to appear in this competition since 2013.

Allen Obando

A tall forward with good technical skills and the ability to hold up the ball well. Obando has shades of Darwin Nunez playing at the same age for Penarol.

However, the 18-year-old is actually Ecuadorean and he has already represented his country's senior national team. Standing at 1.89 metres he's averaging an impressive goal contribution every 102 minutes in his debut season for Ecuadorean side Barcelona SC's first team.

He's also got a goal and an assist at this tournament so far, linking up with the aforementioned Keny Arroyo against Bolivia in Ecuador's opening game.

There's a lot to like there and even though he is quite raw, it's clear there is a gem hiding in Obando.

Germán Barbas

A 17 year old midfielder, Barbas comes from the same academy as Darwin Nunez and Federico Valverde having come through the youth ranks at Penarol.

And the Uruguayan midfielder has already earned comparisons to the Real Madrid star for both his tenacious playing style and vision on the pitch.

He's one of Uruguay's youngest players at the tournament and he comes into the competition with limited first team experience having made just one appearance for Penarol.

But he is being tipped for a bright future and he's got all the components you need in a Liverpool midfield. He's confident on the ball with great technical skills, but he's also a ball winner capable of winning duels.

It's only a matter of time someone snaps him up from Europe and the Reds should be at the front of the queue.
