The Dream Season of Liverpool is Almost Official
The very thing that the fans of Liverpool have been wanting since the start of the 2024/25
season is slowly taking shape. After 28 games, the Reds are firmly in place to win another title
in the best domestic league on the planet, the English Premier League. However, everything
bout how they did it and the surrounding circumstances of this campaign need to be praised as
it is still unraveling. With the season still in progress, and for a few months at that, the fans are
in a frenzy because the team is still the hottest in the whole of Europe and contention for plenty
of trophies. Dominating both the UEFA Champions League and at home, with their leader Mo
Salah playing the best football of his life, and a new coach on the beach ushering in a new era
of the legendary club, there have not been many other better moments to be a fan of Liverpool.
As we look onto the final stretch of the season that is to come in the next several months, in this
article we talk about how this season could become an even more epic and memorable one for
the team. Apart from cheering on their club, the fans are also enjoying the fact that their sports
betting is coming their way considering how much the Reds have been scoring and winning.
And between their betting slips, they also have enough time to play marble racing and other
popular betting games. If you count yourself amongst the most loyal of enthusiasts, keep on
reading to learn about what Liverpool can still do this season as well as where they currently
stand in terms of their most successful seasons.
A Domestic Campaign for the Ages
The long-lasting dominance of Manchester City is seemingly coming to an abrupt end, at least
for now. After another title last year and their player Rodri winning the Baloon d’Or, nobody
expected them to win zero trophies this season and struggle to remain in the top five in the
Premiership. And that is exactly what has happened. But that has not been the main story in the
2024/25 season as Liverpool’s dominant start and the continuous presence at the number one
spot remains worthy of every praise. For months now, they have been looking down on
everyone else, starting with Arsenal in second place and then others. And now, after Matchday
28 in the books, they can start celebrating.
It is only a matter of a game in the next week or two before they are officially crowned
champions of the Premier League yet again. This will be their record-tying 20th title, a nice
round number that equalizes them with Manchester United, capping off a historic season in
great fashion. At the moment, they are 13 points clear of Arsenal in second and 20 points clear
of the defending champions City in fourth. Scoring 66 goals already and with a +40 goal
difference, they are in control across the board, still with only a single loss. In the coming weeks,
the rest of their opponents will start giving them the Guard of Honor as the champions will still
have plenty of games to play, but in a much more relaxed and cheerful manner as the main job
has been done.
Two men have led the way, their leader Mohamed Salah who is leading the league in both goals
with 25 and assists with 17, and their new coach Arne Slot. The Egyptian forward has been
directly involved in 42 out of the 66 goals for his team, while Slot is going to win the Premier
League in his first season with the team, joining only Jose Mourinho with Chelsea (2004/05),
Carlo Ancelotti with Chelsea (2009/10), Manuel Pellegrini with City (2013/14), and Antonio
Conte with Chelsea (2016/17). Salah will surely win the Player of the Season (his second),
Playmaker of the Season (his second), and the Golden Boot (his record-tying fourth), while Slot
is a lock for the Manager of the Season. Truly a dominant campaign across the board.
High Hopes in UEFA CL
Despite not managing to go a perfect 8-0 in the inaugural new format of the UEFA Champions
League, finishing 7-1 was more than enough to finish first. Now, the soon-to-be English
champion will go against PSG in the round of 16. On Wednesday, March 5, they play away in
Paris, and a week later on Tuesday, March 11, it is a home game at Anfield. Liverpool are
heavy favorites to win the matchup and move on to the quarterfinals.
They will have a sigh of relief now that their domestic title is almost a lock and more time and
headspace to prepare for the most prestigious club football title, the UEFA CL trophy. If anyone
can do it, it is this Liverpool side that has dominated in England and Europe for the majority of
the season. PSG is not a weak team, but they are simply no match for the Reds at the moment.
The EFL Cup Final
Before they can hope for a triplet, Liverpool must first secure a double, and the chance for that
presents itself soon. After a disappointing loss to Plymouth Argyle 1-0 in the 4th round of the FA
Cup, the EFL Cup remains their only chance for a domestic double this season. On March 16 at
the iconic Wembley Stadium, Liverpool will play Newcastle in the big final game. They enter this
matchup as the favorites as well, as they have been every time this season.
It took them a decade to get back to winning this cup. After winning it for the 9th time in 2022
and snapping Manchester City’s run of four straight titles, they won it again in 2024 for their
record-extending 10th. In about two weeks, they will look to defend their title and add another
trophy to their case, number 11. If Salah wants that Golden Ball and if Arne Slot wants to write
his name with even stronger ink in the record books of Liverpool, this title is a must. After that, it
will be a hunt for the triplet and new UEFA CL glory, with the eventual battle for the Community
Shield.
