"That’s why we don’t have an agreement" - Journalist provides Mohamed Salah update

David Ornstein has revealed why Liverpool are yet to agree a new deal winger Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian international is on the last year of his current deal at Anfield.
Liverpool have reportedly offered Salah a new contract. But, the 30-year-old wants upwards of £400k per week to stay on Merseyside.
One of the most reliable sports journalists, David Ornstein of The Athletic, has touched on the aforementioned topic.
“What is essential here is the wage structure that needs to be respected for Liverpool to keep a harmonious camp and to remain sustainable," he said on The Athletic's Football Podcast.
“Paying Mo Salah in excess of £400k a week as he heads into his 30s is one thing. It’s a much bigger question than paying Darwin Nunez, I don’t know what it will be about £80, 90, 100, 110,000k a week.
“That slots in perfectly and that is part of Liverpool’s methodology going forward. Paying in excess of 400,000 pounds a week is not, and perhaps that’s why we don’t have an agreement on Salah as things stand.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Honestly, if Salah is wanting £400k per week, we should sell him this summer and cash in.
If Sadio Mane is costing Bayern Munich upwards of £40 million then the Egyptian would cost even more.
Jurgen Klopp has made world-class players out of multiple people, including Salah, so I'm sure he will be able to do it again.
No one is bigger than Liverpool Football Club and if Salah thinks he can hold the club to ransom and destroy the wage structure, then I've got no issue with Fenway Sports Group selling him this summer.
