Liverpool defeated Leeds United 6-0 at Anfield last night.

Mohamed Salah (x2), Joel Matip, Sadio Mane (x2) and Virgil van Dijk were the club's goalscorers against the Whites.

Below, we have anaylysed the key talking points from the aforementioned Premier League fixture.

Salah continued his world-class season

As we have already pointed out, Salah found the back of the net twice against Leeds United.

Both of the winger's goals came from the penalty spot. There is a fair bit of pressure on the player that takes the spot kick, but Salah was as calm as ever before finding the back of the net on two separate occasions.

The Egyptian international is having a superb season. Salah has scored 27 goals and registered 10 assists in 31 appearances this season.

Hopefully Salah can continue his good form and propel Liverpool towards a trophy or two before the 2021-22 campaign concludes.

Curtis Jones returned to the starting XI

Heading into last night's game, Jones had not started for Liverpool in their previous three matches. But, he was given the chance to start against Leeds United.

Jones performed well against the Whites. The 21-year-old registered a WhoScored player rating of 8.55 against Marcelo Bielsa's side.

Jones did give the ball away from time-to-time against Leeds United, but he has not been playing regular senior football as of late. Therefore, no one should be expecting perfect performances from the midfielder at this current moment.

Jones has had a reasonable start to his senior career. The youngster has found the back of the net eight times and secured nine assists in 65 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The centre-back duo and their attacking threat

Liverpool are certainly not short of goals. The Reds possess such potent forwards such as Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz, Mane and Salah.

But, as everyone saw last night, Liverpool's first-choice centre-backs are capable of finding the back of the net.

Matip and Van Dijk give the Reds another option in attack, which is only a good thing.

The Premier League table

Liverpool's victory over Leeds United takes them within three points of league leaders Manchester City. Both sides have played 26 matches each.

With that being the case, the Reds can certainly win the 2021-22 Premier League title. Of course, a lot still has to go right for Liverpool to claim the trophy.

But, Klopp's side were 12 points behind Manchester City a few weeks ago. So, all the momentum is with Liverpool right now.

However, Klopp is not focusing too much on Pep Guardiola's side.

As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the 54-year-old said the following in his post-match press conference last night: "Honestly we don't chase Manchester City - we try to win our games. Now we have the [League] cup final [against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday], City plays who? I don't know exactly but they will probably win."

Liverpool will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on the 10th of April. The Premier League fixture will kick-off at 16:30 local time.

Onto Chelsea in the League Cup final

As Klopp pointed out in his aforementioned comments, Liverpool's next game is a cup final. Chelsea will certainly be difficult to beat.

The Blues are the reigning champions of Europe for a reason. Chelsea also sit in third-place on the Premier League table.

The two Premier League fixtures between Liverpool and Chelsea this season have both ended in draws.

But, if the Reds play anywhere near their best, they will give themselves a great chance of leaving Wembley Stadium with the trophy.

Liverpool are absolutely flying at the moment. They have not lost in any of their past 12 fixtures.

Hopefully the form of Klopp's side continues on Sunday. But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.
