Szoboszlai's social media SNARK could scupper wonderkid deal
Dominik Szoboszlai might have prevented the potential signing of wonderkid Arda Guler with a ruthless social media dig.
With the possibility of Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Federico Chiesa and Luis Diaz all departing Liverpool in the summer, there is a desperate need to strengthen the squad.
Liverpool Transfer News: Harry Kane wants to join as reds in race to complete transfer Slot is DESPERATE for
Mohamed Salah’s contract situation still remains unresolved, meaning his incredible eight-season spell at the club could also be coming to an end.
Liverpool have been linked with several attackers, one of those being Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, who they expressed interest in before he left Fenerbahce in 2023.
The 20-year-old has struggled under Carlo Ancelotti, with only one goal and three assists so far this season. Despite making 31 appearances in all competitions for Madrid, he has started just six times in LaLiga.
Due to his lack of minutes for the Spanish giants, he could be available to Liverpool and has the potential to develop into a player who can replace Salah on the right wing when the time comes.

However, Guler has now clashed with Szoboszlai, one of Slot’s most crucial players, on more than one occasion.
Stop EVERYTHING: Harry Kane wants to join Liverpool
Szoboszlai’s Hungary suffered a 3-0 defeat to Guler’s Turkiye at home on Sunday night (6-1 on aggregate) to end their Nations League campaign. The game saw goals from Guler, Hakan Calhanoglu and Abdulkerim Bardakci.
Soon after the match, a photo of Guler shushing Szoboszlai on the pitch after they argued over a decision was posted online. This encouraged the Reds’ midfielder to respond, commenting a cryptic ‘1088’.
It was quickly worked out that this was a dig at the number of minutes Guler had played for Real Madrid this season, in comparison to Szoboszlai’s 2887 minutes for Liverpool.
Sunday’s match was not the first time the two have collided, as a photo circulated in 2024 of the pair arguing on the pitch while playing for the countries.
