Steven Gerrard's brutal response to Old Trafford boos
Aston Villa boss and former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has responded to the Manchester United fans that were booing him earlier this week.
The Villans came up against the Red Devils in the third round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford. Ralf Rangnick's side defeated Gerrard's team 1-0 on the night.
Before the match got underway, the Manchester United faithful booed the Scouser. However, Gerrard was not too fazed about the reception that he received.
As quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the 41-year-old told the media the following: “Manchester United fans? Relatively quiet. I have been to noisier stadiums than this. It was a good cup tie, a good atmosphere but in terms of what I got [the booing], water off a duck’s back.”Anfield Watch Verdict
Gerrard was a tough player. Therefore, we weren't shocked to hear that the former Red was not too bothered by the Old Trafford boos.
In terms of the future, we would love to see Gerrard manage Liverpool. There would be nothing better than seeing a club legend take the reigns at Anfield.
Gerrard has shown that he is capable manager. The Scouser won the 2021 Scottish Premiership with Rangers.
Hopefully Gerrard can continue his good work at Aston Villa, which might potentially help him land the Liverpool job in the future.
