Liverpool are prepared to spend £25m on Tzimas' services as revealed by Anfield Watch which would make him the most expensive Greek teenager in history.

His current team, Nurnberg have a deal in place to turn his interim spell in Germany into a permanent one at the end of the current campaign.

The centre forward, who has eight goals and two assists in 14 appearances this term, has a clause in his deal which would see him move from PAOK for £15million in the summer.

Liverpool have held discussions with all parties involved in the deal and hope to sign him now, although it is expected Tzimas would only join up with Slot's squad in the summer.

Why Stefanos Tzimas is a special addition for Liverpool

There may be many eyebrows raised at just why Liverpool are prepared to spend so much on a teenager who has only played in Germany's second tier as well as the Greek league.

The Reds will be confident of their data and it's important to mention Tzimas only turned 19 years old this month. He is still a very young player with a lot of room to improve.

Obviously, Liverpool are hedging their bets on his potential but that potential is exciting based on what he has exhibited in Germany so far.

On paper, Tzimas feels like the perfect addition to Slot's squad. At 1.86 metres he plays a bit like a taller version of Diogo Jota, with a lot of intensity and directness - capable of dropping back into open spaces and bringing the ball forward from deep.

At the same time, he also has a clinical touch and great composure in front of goal.

Tzimas has a 20% goal conversion rate as per Wyscout from a very high volume of shots (3.98 per 90). For comparison, Darwin Nunez averages just over 10% goal conversion from 2.5 shots per 90 for Liverpool this season.

So based on the data so far, Tzimas is a lot more clinical than the Uruguayan - albeit while playing at a lower level. But Liverpool feel confident he can replicate those numbers in Slot's side as well in the future.

One of Tzimas' best assets is his ability to find himself in spaces inside the opposition's penalty area. This is something Nunez hasn't been able to do as effectively under Slot - but someone like Santiago Gimenez thrived at doing at Feyenoord under Slot.

Tzimas' numbers are more like Gimenez, who averaged 7 touches in the opposition's penalty area per 90 under Slot - Tzimas averages 7.48.

As mentioned above, like Jota, Tzimas can drop back and he can beat players in one vs one situations. He attempts 5.24 take-ons per 90 and succeeds in 2.04 of them as per FBref.

This means he isn't just a one dimensional target man, at such a young age he already has a variety of ways in which he can get himself involved in Liverpool's build-up play.

Essentially, that array of tools under his belt makes him unpredictable for defenders and it's exactly what Liverpool want in attack. Tzimas would bring the chaos you associate with Nunez but also the composure and the finishing touch in front of goal.

That is why he would be a special addition for Slot's side and why he could completely transform this Liverpool attack.
