Stefan Bajcetic joins Adidas, second Liverpool player this week
Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic has signed a contract with Adidas. He becomes the second Red in the last week to do so.
Adidas have announced a deal with Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajcetic. The brand revealed a video on Wednesday showing Bajcetic signing with them - he'll be wearing their gear going forward.
It represents another step in Bajcetic's remarkable climb over the last year. The Spaniard broke into the setup at Anfield around a year ago, becoming a very useful member of Jurgen Klopp's squad.
Bajcetic ended up starting six Premier League games last season and even scored his first goal - in a win over Aston Villa. 11 games in total showed he'd made it into the squad.
Injury, however, has kept Bajcetic out of the team. He's yet to play at all, in fact, and it remains to be seen what kind of role he'll have on his return.
Not that he'll be too worried about that. Bajcetic is a wonderfully versatile player - he arrived at the club as a centre-half, quickly developed into a defensive midfielder but actually started to play a little more advanced under Klopp.
There's almost certainly some sort of role for him once he's back - even with all the new arrivals in midfield.
Bajcetic is also the second Liverpool player to sign with Adidas this week. Trent Alexander-Arnold has also struck a deal with the German company - and wore unreleased Predator boots against Manchester City.
The Athletic call that deal a 'lucrative' one as they believe Alexander-Arnold can be one of the faces of their brand going forward. He joins Jude Bellingham and Pedri as the key Predator boot players now.
Alexander-Arnold had been with Under Armor since breaking into senior football in 2017. That partnership is now done and, like Bajcetic, he'll be representing Adidas going forward.
