£29m star confirms he is ready to join Liverpool
Arne Slot's first addition to the Liverpool first team squad ahead of this summer has already been confirmed.
There is so much to do for Richard Hughes in the upcoming transfer window. It's impossible to predict what exactly Liverpool are planning to do in the market.
Liverpool FC News Recap: Star CONFIRMS he’s staying as Reds ready €60m offer
At the moment it feels like the whole squad needs an overhaul, especially in attack and in defender where there are multiple areas that Hughes has to strengthen.
What's becoming apparent is that not every player is suited to the way Slot wants to play and maybe not every play is as appreciated by the Reds' new head coach as they were under Jurgen Klopp.
This is going to mean that the Reds are going to be a lot busier this summer as opposed to last summer.
EXCLUSIVE: Liverpool ENTER Hugo Ekitike talks
And there's one player who is already set to join up with Slot's squad this summer who has just confirmed he is ready to make the step up to the first team squad.
Why Giorgi Mamardashvili just confirmed he's ready to make Liverpool step
Liverpool signed Mamardashvili from an initial fee of £29m (Sky Sports) and there have been a lot of question marks about whether he is ready to make the move to Anfield this summer.
Mamardashvili is undoubtedly one of the biggest young goalkeeper prospects in world football. But Liverpool still have the best goalkeeper in between the sticks in Alisson.
Fighting for a place in the starting 11 with the Brazilian is not going to be easy.
That's not something a lot of goalkeepers can handle. But Mamardashvili might just be up to the task and he might just have the mettle to even oust Alisson as the club's first choice.
He confirmed this at the weekend as Valencia took on Real Madrid and Mamardashvili played a key role in his side's impressive victory.
The Georgian saved a penalty struck by Vinicius Junior and later claimed he made a €50 bet with the Brazilian that he would save the penalty.
This not only shows his class, being able to stop one of the most in-form attackers in world football but it also gives you a picture of his character.
Mamardashvili is certainly not fazed by anything. If he's willing to involve himself in such mind games with Vinicius Junior he's ready for that massive leap to Liverpool as well.
Many might have thought that Liverpool will send him out on loan but Mamardashvili's actions confirm he's not going to go anywhere.
He's coming to join the first team and become Slot's first choice. Whether he will be successful in that endeavour next season remains to be seen.

He'll certainly give it a go.
