Spanish star is BEGGING for Richard Hughes to complete dream deal

A midfielder should still be on the agenda for the Reds this summer.

In fact, Richard Hughes may need to bolster Liverpool's options with more than one midfielder.

In the holding midfield department, it's moot whether Ryan Gravenberch is enough as the only option Arne Slot is comfortable with playing in the no.6 role.

Meanwhile, further forward in the no.10 position, Dominik Szoboszlai could do with some competition in order to sometimes give him the necessary respite he deserves.

Harvey Elliott clearly won't be that player, with Slot very rarely giving the Liverpool youngster a chance.

That's why Hughes may have to dip into the market and the perfect midfielder is pretty much begging to be signed right now, even with Mikel Arteta eyeing him up as a potential target for Arsenal.

El Nacional as per Football Transfers are reporting that Arsenal are obsessed with Athletic Bilbao midfielder Oihan Sancet.

The 24-year-old has 15 goals in La Liga this season and has also enjoyed a brilliant Europa League campaign with the Spanish side.

And while Arsenal may be obsessed with Sancet, it's Liverpool who his heart strings may pull towards.

That's because he has a very visible tattoo on his forearm of the Reds' famous anthem: You'll Never Walk Alone.

So, he's a goal-scoring midfielder who is on Premier League sides' radar and he has a YNWA tattoo. What more does Hughes need to bring him to Anfield?

It seems like this would be the dream deal not only for Sancet but for Liverpool fans. Not since Fernando Torres, 'whose armband proved he was a red,' has there been a more obvious Spanish star destined to join the Reds.

Sancet plays for a Bilbao team who work really hard off the ball. He's someone who knows how to find the back of the net and arrive in the box.

All of those things will tick boxes in what Slot really wants from his attacking midfielders.

He does have a long-term contract at Bilbao until 2032, which makes it difficult for other clubs to sign him.

But if Arsenal are interested, it must mean Sancet may at least consider a move away. And what better place to go to than the club that has that very anthem he has tattooed on his arm?

Liverpool would be very smart to make this deal happen. Sancet is at the perfect age and he's ready to take on a challenge away from his local club.
