Liverpool-linked Sofyan Amrabat agrees terms with Manchester United

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has agreed personal terms with Manchester United, despite previous transfer links to Liverpool. 

According to Italian daily Corriere della Sera, the 26-year-old midfielder is ready to 'say yes' a move to Old Trafford amid talk that the Red Devils held talks with his representatives earlier this week.

It is said that Fiorentina want a €30m (£26m) fee for Amrabat, but as things stand, United are unwilling to meet their asking price as they look to offload a few fringe players to raise funds for potential incomings.

Amrabat saw his stock rise after a string of impressive displays at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, as he played a starring role for Morocco. Stationed at the heart of Walid Regragui's midfield, the Fiorentina man earned rave reviews for his energy and tough tackling as the Atlas Lions defied the odds to reach the semi-finals of the competition. He was linked with a move to Liverpool and several other clubs in January, but a transfer never materialised.

With Fabinho and Jordan Henderson set to leave Liverpool imminently, the Reds have been linked with a host of names as they look to reinforce their midfield — including Amrabat, who was among the names on a shortlist shared by journalists. However, with the Moroccan star reportedly agreeing personal terms with Manchester United, the Fiorentina man is unlikely to be one of the new faces at Anfield this summer.

Southampton's Romeo Lavia and Crystal Palace's Cheick Doucoure have been mentioned as potential targets, with Liverpool reportedly ready to press ahead with a move for the former after agreeing personal terms.

Belgian reporter Sacha Tavolieri has claimed that Liverpool are ready to open the bidding for Lavia at £35m, though Southampton rate their player at £50m.
