Liverpool star's response to 'impossible' task stuns Arne Slot in training session
Trent Alexander-Arnold certainly impressed new Liverpool head coach Arne Slot after completing an "impossible" challenge during a training session.
The Reds have been put through their paces at the AXA Training Centre ahead of their opening Premier League game of the 2024/25 season against newly-promoted Ipswich Town at Saturday lunchtime.
During one session, Slot pulled off an impressive trick by curling the ball into a goal from behind the touchline and then challenged Alexander-Arnold to the same. However, there was a twist.
The England international opted to move the ball further back before attempting the trick and despite being warned by the Dutchman that the shot was an "impossible" one, he managed to send the ball bouncing into the back of the net to earn a round of applause from his head coach in the process.

Alexander-Arnold's future
Seeing Alexander-Arnold in a relaxed mood might be a good sign with regard to his long-term future. It's well documented that he has entered the final 12 months of his deal at Anfield and speculation that he could join Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer refuses to go away.
Having said that, Liverpool are said to be calm over the 25-year-old's future despite the very real prospect of losing such a key player for nothing next summer.
According to recent reports, whilst a new contract for the full-back is a high priority for the club, they will only attempt to convince Alexander-Arnold to commit his long-term future once he's had talks with new head coach Slot about his role and position.
