Sevilla have 'concrete plans' to sign Stefan Bajcetic

Liverpool youngster Stefan Bajcetic is a target for La Liga side Sevilla, according to one report.

The teenager, who turns 19 this month, signed for Liverpool in 2020 and broke through to the first team last season, impressing across 19 appearances in all competitions before a thigh injury ended his campaign back in March.

It's been a slow road to recovery for the highly-rated midfielder, who missed the Reds' pre-season and only made his club comeback in the 3-1 Europa League win over LASK last month.

Bajcetic also made a brief cameo in the Carabao Cup win over Leicester, but has yet to play a minute of the Premier League season in 2023/24, with Jurgen Klopp admitting the youngster had suffered a setback.

Meanwhile, Fichajes report that Sevilla have an eye on the former Celta Vigo starlet.

The report states that Victor Orta, the sporting director at Sevilla, sees Bajcetic as fitting 'perfectly into the club's long-term vision'.

It is added that the Andalusian club have 'concrete plans' for the Spain Under-21 star next summer, and hope to convince him of a move by making him an 'essential piece for the club's future'.

Fichajes also suggest a €15m (£13m) market value for Bajcetic, which seems an impossibly low price for such a talented player whose contract runs until 2027.

Speaking before the 2-2 draw with Brighton, Klopp gave an update on Bajcetic and Thiago's fitness, noting that he hoped the injured pair would be able to return to action after the international break.

The manager said: "It is just, for [Thiago] himself especially, annoying. He had now two setbacks in the rehab, not massive but enough to take him off the pitch again. Obviously not the same injury, not at all, but a bit similar.

"It’s as annoying as it is for Stefan Bajcetic, who was there, played a few minutes and then played a few minutes and then felt something else. That’s how it is after long-term injuries from time to time.

"I don’t know and I will not put pressure on that [their returns] because I can’t anyway. If they will be back after the internationals, we will see that. Hopefully, it would be cool."
