Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has recalled the time Liverpool forward Diogo Jota 'sent him to the shops'.

The Reds welcomed the Gunners to Anfield back in November. Liverpool won the aforementioned Premier League fixture 4-0.

Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Takumi Minamino and Jota were the club's goalscorers on the night.

However, the Portugal international's goal was the best of the bunch. As you can see in the footage below, Jota completely fooled Ramsdale before finding the back of the net.

The shot-stopper has recently commented on the incident.

“Diogo Jota, he sent me to the shops, didn’t he," said Ramsdale, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo and Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

Anfield Watch Verdict

To be fair to Ramsdale, he would not be the first player that Jota has fooled. The forward is extremely skillful.

Jota has been exceptional since joining Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee of €44.70 million.

He has scored 32 goals in 69 appearances for the Reds. Jota has been in good form for Liverpool this season. The Portugal international has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.00 across all competitions.

We should have known that Jota was going to be a top player for Liverpool, as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp did predict it.

The German told the club's official website the following when Jota signed: "He’s still far away from being kind of a finished article, so much potential. He has the speed, he can combine, can defend, can press.

"It makes it just more unpredictable and gives us real options for different systems because he can play pretty much all three positions up front in a 4-3-3, if we play with four midfielders he can play both wings.

"So, these kinds of things. It’s just nice. And he has some natural things which we have in our game, like this desire and the greed and the direction.

"He is part of this unbelievable Portuguese generation in the moment, where they have really a lot of obviously quite skilled players. We saw the Portuguese team last time, it’s quite impressive.

"So, I’m really happy to have him here. And on top of that, a really good guy and really happy to be here."

Jota is only 25 years of age, so we can only see him improving over time.
