With winger Sadio Mane reportedly set to join Bayern Munich this summer, Liverpool have a huge job on their hands trying to replace one of the best attackers in the Premier League over the past decade.  Mane has one year left on his contract, which means that the Reds can try and cash in on the Senegal international in the coming months. Securing Mane's replacement will be crucial for Liverpool as they try to build on what they achieved last season.

That being said, there are existing players in the squad who are still finding their feet and are really making a name for themselves in the short time they’ve been at the club. For example, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz. Despite the excellent talent they already have up top, another big attacking signing is imminent and we’ve listed some of the front runners below. There’s lots of speculation around these players. If you want to see who is the favourite to end up at Anfield, you can find the best odds & markets at Smarkets.com.

Who Will Replace Mane?

Serge Gnabry

A big name on everyone’s lips is Gnabry. After leaving Arsenal for Bayern Munich, his career has really taken off. He’s actually labelled as one of the best wingers in Europe and last season he managed to score 17 goals and register 10 assists. This deal could work perfectly for both parties not only because Liverpool could sign a world-class player with a lot of playing time left in him, but Bayern Munich are also the favourites for the signature of Mane. This would be a massive swap deal.

Darwin Nunez

There are many big teams across Europe chasing the big name at Benfica, Nunez.  Nunez stunned Jurgen Klopp with his performance against Liverpool in the quarter-finals. He managed to score a total of 34 goals in all competitions last season, two of which were against Liverpool. When you consider the fact that he’s only 22 years old, his talent really is astonishing and he has the potential to become one of the best in the business.  But as mentioned before, signing him won't be easy. Not only is every team watching him closely, Benfica also won't let him go for cheap. Teams are going to have to dig deep if they want a chance of signing him.

Jarrod Bowen

Perhaps Liverpool could look a bit closer to home with their replacement signing, with someone like West Ham United's Jarrod Bowen.  Bowen had an excellent season, one worthy enough to earn him a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad. There is not too much substance behind the possibility of this signing, however, it may surface to something given that Liverpool may lose an English player or two, meaning they will need some more homegrown players in their squad.  Bowen is also at that stage of his career where he could really reach his full potential under the management of one of the best coaches in the world.

Martin Terrier

Perhaps a lesser known player who is on the lips of a lot of reporting papers is Martin Terrier. Not many people will be aware of him and his capabilities, so let’s give you an insight.  Terrier scored a total of 21 goals for the French side Rennes last season. He plays in a No.9 role and can also go deep, which will be something that Jurgen Klopp will admire. He would also be a cheaper signing than some of the other runners.
