Sadio Mane reveals his favourite goal he has scored for Liverpool
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has scored quite a few goals for the club over the years.
The Senegal international has found the back of the net 120 times in 268 appearances for the Reds' first-team.
However, one goal does stand out for Mane. As you can see in the footage below, the 30-year-old scored a sublime goal on his Liverpool debut against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium back in 2016.
"This is my favourite Liverpool goal. It was my first game for Liverpool," he told the Telegraph, as quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter.
“When I got the ball on the right and went past two defenders I was looking for a pass. Then I saw I was near the goal and sometimes you don’t know how you score it. You do it, but you can’t repeat it.
“If you come to a new club you want to start well to show your teammates you are important. It gave me a lot of confidence."
Liverpool went on to win the aforementioned Premier League fixture 4-3.
Anfield Watch Verdict
We completely agree with Mane. The winger's goal against Arsenal back in 2016 is definitely a standout.
It is not easy to dribble from out wide and then find the top-left corner of the net with your wrong foot. Mane's finish against the Gunners highlighted that Liverpool had signed a quality player.
But, it would be fair to say that he has surpassed expectations.
With the Champions League final against Real Madrid on the horizon, hopefully Mane can go one better.
The Senegal international has looked lively out on the football pitch in recent games. Therefore, we would not be shocked if Mane caused Real Madrid a few problems on Saturday night.
The final, which begins at 8:00pm BST, will be broadcasted on BT Sport.
