After helping Liverpool reach the final of the FA Cup, Sadio Mane has spoken about the game that puts the Reds one step closer to winning the quadruple.

Speaking after the game, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Mane said that today's victory over Manchester City was a 'big win'.

"Today is special - we were playing one of the best teams in the world. To win this kind of game, especially in a semi-final, is a big, big, big win," said Sadio.

"We were very pleased to win and qualify for the final."

Mane also spoke about his first goal of the game where he forced City's backup keeper, Zack Steffen, into a major mistake.

"We started very well, everybody started on the front foot - for my first goal the goalkeeper made a mistake but I think we pushed him to make that mistake. That is our style and I think that made the difference."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane looks back to his best and today's performance was a great example of that. He has the confidence to try things that we haven't seen for the past couple of years.

The Sadio of last season would've hit that volley into row Z of Wembley. Fortunately, he's found his form again and it made for an amazing third Liverpool goal.

With Liverpool now in the FA Cup final, that puts us one step closer to achieving the impossible. Speaking about the quadruple, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Mane said that the team are going to do their 'best' to win it.

"We have a lot of games to go and we will try to do our best - it's our dream for sure and we will fight for it."

Hopefully, the players now believe that they can do it after the all-important win against our biggest rivals and arguably the best team in world football.
