Ryan Gravenberch was not in Bayern Munich training on Thursday, as a move to Liverpool nears, according to one report.

The 21-year-old Dutch midfielder is Liverpool's main target, with little over a day left of the summer transfer window.

Reports on Wednesday confirmed that the Reds are now in talks with Bayern Munich over a permanent transfer of the former Ajax talent, who is unhappy at a lack of game time in Germany.

Though Bayern had initially been unwilling to sanction a transfer, it is reported that the situation has now changed and the German champions are ready to let Gravenberch leave in order to help fund a deal for Fulham's defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha.

It appears Gravenberch could become the Reds fourth midfield signing of the summer, though things will need to move quickly with Deadline Day fast approaching. Clubs in England have until 23:00 BST on Friday to get their business done, while Bundesliga sides must register new players before 17:00 BST.

Bild report that Gravenberch missed training with Bayern on Thursday morning as the transfer accelerates towards completion.

The report claims that the Netherlands international is 'about to move to England', though he has not yet departed Germany for England to undergo a medical or sign terms.

Gravenberch is expected to cost Liverpool around €30m (£25.5m), though Bild suggests there is some 'poker' going on as the clubs negotiate the fee. The Telegraph has suggested that Liverpool may instead need to pay around £35m.

Previously Melissa Reddy has reported that Ajax maintain a 7.5% sell-on fee in any deal, which could hike up the price.

Speaking last weekend when asked about the transfer interest, Gravenberch told reporters: "I don't know what will happen in the next days."

Though Manchester United have also been linked with the player, it appears Liverpool is Gravenberch's preferred destination. Meanwhile, the Red Devils have also seen a bid for Sofyan Amrabat rejected.
