Roy Keane has explained what he thinks Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool changed at half-time during their 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

Speaking on Sky Sports, as cited by Anfield Central, Keane said that Klopp had a go at his players during the half-time team talk, which made them show their true colours.

“I think the quality, and what impressed me with all these top-quality players is the desire to keep going to try and win the game at the end," said Keane.

"The chances, no team was ever really gonna dominate the game for long spells because there was so much quality on both sides.

“Liverpool struggled to get going, but then in the second half, they showed their character. We saw at the start of the second half, Jurgen Klopp obviously had a go at them at halftime and said, ‘Listen, you’ve gotta start showing your true colours.’

"We saw that in the second half, but then City had some great chances as well.

“It was just a great reminder to us all about what this game is about, that’s why we love this game, I thought it was fantastic. I really enjoyed it and credit to all the players, I thought they were fantastic.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

A 2-2 draw for Liverpool is not the end of the world. There are still seven Premier League games to go and as we know, no game in the Premier League is easy.

As Keane said, this was an unbelievable technical display by the two best teams in the world. Even if you don't think it's the best rivalry in Premier League history, ability-wise, it's by far the most competitive fixture we've seen.

The fact that we also have to play Man City again this season, with the possibility of also facing them in a Champions League final, is going to be very difficult as the intensity of the game is on another level.

Both Klopp and Pep Guardiola will be analysing yesterday's game hoping to find a chink in the armour.

Hopefully, it's Klopp and his team who can find the weakness as we're not sure we can stomach another match like yesterday again.
