Roberto Martinez provides definitive injury update on Divock Origi

Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has provided an injury update on Liverpool forward Divock Origi.

The 26-year-old started for Belgium against Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium last night.

However, Origi was substituted 59 minutes into the aforementioned World Cup qualifier.

Many Liverpool fans feared that the striker had picked an injury against Wales. However, Martinez told Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison that Origi only suffered a dead leg.

The 48-year-old further added that Origi should be fit for Liverpool's Premier League clash against Arsenal on Saturday.

Belgium secured a 1-1 draw against Wales.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

It is great to hear that Origi did not suffer a serious injury against Wales. The Belgium international is a handy forward.

Origi has scored three goals and registered two assists in seven appearances for Liverpool this season.

The 26-year-old is also averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.78 across the 2021-22 club campaign.

Therefore, we are delighted to hear that Origi only suffered a dead leg against Wales.
