Roberto Firmino achieves impressive stat in Shrewsbury clash

Roberto Firmino's goal against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon earned him an impressive stat of scoring 10 goals as a sub under Jurgen Klopp, with only Divock Origi beating him in those stakes.

Of course, any footballer wants to be playing from the first whistle and Firmino has more often than not had that luxury under Jurgen Klopp, with him becoming a real key figure of the attacking front three alongside Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Injuries have hampered him a bit this season but he was back on the scoresheet yesterday afternoon as he came on against the Shrews to help seal a 4-1 victory at Anfield.

His goal earned him this landmark as well:

Divock Origi obviously gets a lot of praise for his impact on games from the bench but this shows Firmino's talents for doing very similar and hopefully he'll keep scoring between now and the end of the campaign.

Anfield Watch Verdict

This is some going from Firmino, especially when he has so often been a first-team player during this period and so obviously not normally coming off of the bench.

It shows what sort of impact he can have on the game at any moment, though, and his trickery and industry can be a nightmare for defences, particularly if he is coming on fresh and they are tired from the action that has already unfolded.

He is a top-quality player and still very much has plenty to offer the Reds as we head into the next few important months of the campaign.
