Robert Lewandowski subtly warns Sadio Mane about joining Bayern Munich
Robert Lewandowski has warned future Bayern Munich signings about joining the German champions.
Speaking to Sport Onet, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, the Polish forward has sent a message to any player considering joining Bayern Munich in the future.
"What kind of player will want to go to Bayern knowing that something like this could happen to them?" said Lewandowski. "Where is the loyalty and respect then?
“I just want to leave Bayern. Loyalty and respect are more important than the work. The best thing to do is find a solution together. They didn’t want to listen to me until the end. Something died inside me and it’s impossible to get over that.
“During so many years at the club I was always ready, available, despite injuries and the pain, I gave my best. I think the best thing to do is to find a good solution for both sides and not to look for a one-sided decision.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
Paul Joyce, as cited by AW on Twitter, confirmed on Sunday that Liverpool had rejected a bid from Bayern Munich for Mane.
Joyce confirmed that the offer tabled was £21 million, plus £4 million in add-ons.
The journalist also said that Liverpool officials did not entertain the offer from Bayern Munich for Mane. The Reds believe the aforementioned fee hugely undervalues the player and they have not given Bayern a price at which they are prepared to sell.
However, Dominic King of the Daily Mail, as cited by Anfield Watch, said that it would take closer to £35 million for Liverpool to consider offloading Mane.
Kerry Hau, of the reliable German outlet SPORT1, as cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account, claims that Bayern are planning to submit an improved bid for Mane.
An offer of €35 million (£30 million) plus €5 million in add-ons is currently being discussed. This package would meet Liverpool's demands. All parties expect an agreement to be reached soon.
It seems like Mane is on his way out of Liverpool so hopefully the German club treat him with the respect he deserves.
