Anfield Watch exclusively revealed that Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz will all be up for sale.

Then who knows what's going to happen the trio of stars on expiring contracts. It may well be the case that they all leave which will mean there is going to be a massive void in the squad.

But it's all part of a longer project. A project undertaken by Michael Edwards that will see Arne Slot given the squad that he needs in order to make his system work and elevate Liverpool to even higher levels.

And in order to do that, Hughes is going to be looking to sign a dream transfer for Slot.

Why Richard Hughes is lining up dream Givairo Read transfer

According to Sport in Spain, Liverpool have set their sights on Givairo Read, who has burst onto the scene at Feyenoord this season.

Read has eight goal contributions from right-back already this season and registered a hat-trick of assists in his previous outing against FC Twente.

At 18-years-old, he is regarded as the next big thing in Dutch football and our experts gave an exciting lowdown on him last month.

Slot will know Read very well having given him his senior debut last season while he was in charge of Feyenoord.

And as we mentioned above, Liverpool are going to go through changes in the squad, including at right-back where Trent Alexander-Arnold could be joining Real Madrid on a free transfer.

If Alexander-Arnold leaves, Read would pretty much be the dream transfer for Slot.

He already knows Read very well and clearly rates him very highly. This would help both player and coach to settle and integrate into the team.

Read is obviously still raw but at the same time Conor Bradley is already at the club and he is ready to fill Trent's shoes. Read would be an excellent deputy playing in the role Bradley has played over the course of the last two seasons.

Fittingly, just like Bradley, Read is also a boyhood Liverpool fan which would make this the dream transfer not just for Slot but also for the young teenager as well.

Feyenoord will be reluctant to lose him after only just bursting onto the scene this season.

But Liverpool have the financial means to pull this transfer off and he would still cost significantly less than some of the club's other options.

Ultimately, that would allow Liverpool to invest heavily in other areas of the squad where there is an even bigger need to strengthen.
