The perfect player may already be on the club's radar.
It's not going to be easy to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold. The truth is we don't really want Liverpool having to replace him in the first place.

He's a generational talent. One of the few players in this squad who has been through all of the ups and downs of the Jurgen Klopp era.
Alexander-Arnold is also a local boy. He understands what it really means to play for Liverpool. What the Liver Bird badge truly means.
Losing a player like that is never something you want to even entertain the idea of, let alone having to face.
And this is before we even start to mention Alexander-Arnold's quality on the pitch. He is a generational talent. Someone who can win games single-handedly with his ball striking ability.
He showed that against Leicester City again, and it wasn't the first time he has delivered when it truly mattered for Liverpool.

So who on earth could be good enough to replace him? There have been a few candidates linked with a move to the Reds.
Let's be clear, Liverpool are never going to replace Alexander-Arnold. He is irreplacaple.
You can however fill the right-back position and there is a perfect candidate for that and a dream scenario.
One of the biggest issues with Alexander-Arnold's potential departure to Real Madrid is the fact that he will leave on a free transfer.
That leaves Liverpool in a tricky situation. Because Alexander-Arnold is easily a ÂŁ100m player and because Liverpool already have so many other positions they need to bolster this summer and spend heavily on.
Essentially Liverpool need someone quality and cheap. This naturally narrows down the club's options.
But there is one player who makes sense. Ola Aina and he is reportedly on Liverpool's radar with the Reds considering making a move.
The Nigerian international is experienced, having played at a top level in Italy and now in the Premier League.
He's also a homegrown player meaning Liverpool can fill a much needed spot with Aina's arrival in the squad.
And best of all he's available on a free contract, meaning just like Trent Alexander-Arnold will cost nothing for Real Madrid, Aina will cost nothing for Liverpool.
This is why he's the dream replacement for Liverpool. Aina brings experience, quality and affordability.

There's no one better in the market than him and it's no surprise Hughes is now lining up a move for the Nottingham Forest defender.
