Mohamed Salah has opened up about facing Real Madrid in this year's Champions League final.

While collecting his FWA Player of the Season award, Salah spoke about Real Madrid, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, saying that he wanted to face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League.

“I said I wanted to play them in the final. I’m sure it’s going to be a tough game. They beat a lot of good teams but I’m excited. The team is excited. We need to stay focused. We have to finish the league first, then we will see.”

Salah also spoke about the 2017/18 final against Real Madrid, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

“Yeah. It’s revenge time,” said Salah. “They beat us in the final last time. It was a very sad day for all of us, so yeah.

“We have to focus on the Premier League first. We have four games left and so do City. We wish they will drop points. We just need to focus on the Spurs game and then go from there.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

This current Liverpool side and the one who lost to Real Madrid in the 2018 Champions League final are two completely different sides.

Not just player-wise but mentality-wise. Since that game, we have been through so much as a club and we've come out of it with one of the best footballing sides ever.

Under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, we have gone from an 8th placed team, struggling to make an impact, to a team challenging for the Premier League title and Champions League every season.

Thanks to his new four-year deal, it looks likely that Liverpool are going to continue this success for years to come.

Hopefully, we can kick off his new deal with a historic quadruple!
