"Rest of my career" - Harvey Elliott reveals plans for his Liverpool future

Harvey Elliott has revealed that he would love to retire at Liverpool and potentially become a coach one day.

Ever since Elliott joined Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham, he has become a fan favourite and most importantly a Jurgen Klopp favourite.

So much so that the 19-year-old has become a mainstay in the Germans squad this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions.

In a recent interview, Elliott has spoken about how he desires to stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career and maybe even coach the side one day.

“I want to stay here for the rest of my career. Whether that is as a player, or a coach, or whatever it is - a mentor to the younger ones. I just want to be at Liverpool for the rest of my life," Elliott told Liverpoolfc.com.

“It feels like home now all of my family have moved up with me. To be able to come and see Anfield, drive past it every day, and to go to the training ground and to be in and around these world-class players - I mean, for me, there is no better place to be than here.

“To stay here for the rest of my career is one thing. Then it's making sure we win, or achieve, as many things as we can.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

I haven't wanted a player to succeed at Liverpool so much as I have with Elliott. He has so much raw talent and under Klopp, I honestly think he could become a world-class player.

A lot of people seem to be hating on Elliott recently but he was our best player for the first 2 months of the season and he hasn't really put a foot wrong.

Is he the world-class midfielder we need right now? No. However, he is doing his best. At the end of the day he is only 19-years-old and he has been one of our best midfielders this campaign so I think a bit of respect needs to be put on his name.
