Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans could depart the club this summer.

According to The Telegraph's John Percy, as cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account, the 24-year-old will be available for a transfer fee of £25 million in a couple of months time.

Tielemans does possess a current market value of €55 million. However, due to the fact that the Belgium international's contract expires at the end of next season, Percy has made it clear that his valuation has been dropped by Leicester City.

The journalist further added that Tielemans wants to play for a club that competes in the Champions League.

Liverpool have recently been linked with a move for the midfielder.

Anfield Watch Verdict

We would love to see Liverpool make a move for Tielemans, as he is a top player. The midfielder has scored 24 goals and registered 22 assists in 144 appearances for Leicester City's first-team.

Tielemans has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.00 across the 2021-22 Premier League campaign.

The Belgium international is also capable of big moments. Tielemans scored the winning goal against Chelsea during the 2021 FA Cup final, which took place at Wembley Stadium.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has labelled the midfielder as "outstanding" in the past.

"He is an outstanding player, one of Europe’s top midfielders," the Northern Irishman said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

"He is integral to our game and a joy to work with — a super professional. A young player with that focus is great to see."

Tielemans would certainly add depth and quality to Liverpool's midfield. He would also be a bargain of a signing for £25 million.

But, it would be fair to assume that a number of clubs will be attempting to sign Tielemans this summer due to his quality and reported price tag.

Only time will tell if Liverpool and the midfielder are to cross paths.
