Why Liverpool might not sign Jude Bellingham
Liverpool are losing confidence in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to The National News, as cited by HITC.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the England international in recent times.
However, Fenway Sports Group (the club's owners) are not prepared to break their wage structure to sign Bellingham, according to The National News.
He is contracted until the summer of June 2025. Bellingham possesses a current market value of £72 million.
Anfield Watch Verdict
It has been reported that Borussia Dortmund are not willing to sell Bellingham this summer. But, we do hope that Liverpool make a move for the midfielder in the near future.
The reality is, Bellingham is a very talented player.
The 18-year-old has scored 10 goals and registered 18 assists in 89 appearances for Borussia Dortmund's first-team.
Borussia Dortmund teammate Mats Hummels has certainly provided an insight into why Bellingham is worth investing in.
"Mario Gotze was already a magnificent footballer at that age, he took his football very seriously. But Jude is the most mature 18-year-old player I've ever seen. He's already a leader and also one of the most vocal in the team” he told Bundesliga.com.
“He's a fantastic footballer, and a fantastic guy. I think I've told him about 25 times now that I just love him. He's on his way to the very top, there's no doubt about that.”
Also, because of Bellingham's age, he could play in Liverpool's midfield for at least a decade. He won't come cheap because of his ability and age. In saying that, the England international would certainly be worth the money (transfer fee and wages).
Hopefully Bellingham and Liverpool cross paths at some stage. But, only time will tell if that is to be the case.
