Report: What Anfield insiders think of Ibrahima Konate
During the 2021 summer transfer window, Liverpool signed centre-back Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for a transfer fee of €40 million.
The 22-year-old has only made two appearances for the club's first-team in the early parts of the 2021-22 campaign.
Despite that being the case, Anfield insiders believe that Konate is one of the best young centre-backs in world football, according to the Liverpool Echo, as cited by AW's Twitter account.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
There is no denying that Konate possesses talent. Footage of the 22-year-old highlights that he is a solid defender.
Konate is young, but he is a reasonably experienced defender. The Frenchman made 95 appearances for RB Leipzig's first-team.
Over time, we believe that Konate will show his worth in a red shirt. The reality is, the centre-back has plenty of time on his side due to his age.
Also, Konate is training/playing alongside arguably the best defender in the world - Virgil van Dijk.
Therefore, it would be fair to assume that the Frenchman would be learning a lot off the Dutchman.
