Back in August, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed that the club had opened talks with winger Mohamed Salah regarding a new contract.

However, an agreement is yet to be reached between the two parties.

According to The Times, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Salah and his agent want more money than what Liverpool are currently prepared to offer.

The Egyptian international's contract expires in the summer of 2023.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Salah is a world-class player. The winger has scored 140 goals and registered 53 assists in 218 appearances for Liverpool.

The 29-year-old is also showing no signs of slowing down. Salah has found the back of the net 15 times in 15 matches for the Reds this season.

The Egyptian international is also averaging a WhoScored player rating of 8.10 across the 2021-22 club campaign.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Salah is a vital player for Liverpool.

Therefore, we do hope that the forward and the club can come to an agreement sooner rather than later.
