Klopp tells Liverpool to keep Matip
Liverpool will reject advice from Jurgen Klopp this summer and let a player leave this summer. The boss will also depart, of course.
The Times claims Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpool they should renew Joel Matip's contract this summer. That's despite the 32-year-old suffering an ACL injury that has kept him out for months.
Even without the injury, there was a sense that Matip would leave. He'll turn 33 later this year and Liverpool have competition in the position.

FSG eye Vasco da Dama
Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group are exploring a deal to buy Vasco da Gama, according to a report in Brazil, as judges SUSPEND 777 Partners’ ownership of the club.
Newly-appointed FSG CEO of Football Michael Edwards declared on his comeback to the organisation that the multi-club model would be explored with Benfica technical director Pedro Marques being appointed having plentiful experience in this regard with Manchester City.
Hints that a Portuguese team could be added to the network have been given but reports of a takeover of Toulouse in France were ultimately wide of the mark.

Thiago trains ahead of Sunday
Liverpool have reportedly welcomed three players back to first-team training ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s final game as manager.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Thiago was back in training this week ahead of Liverpool vs Wolves this weekend. The Spaniard has appeared just once this season - five minutes in the Premier League against Arsenal.
Thiago immediately picked up another injury in that one, though, and it was one likely to rule him out all season. Liverpool have missed him pretty badly - after all, he's a 'world-class' player and one with skills that stand out against anyone.
However, he's apparently trained.

Program for Klopp finale revealed
Liverpool have revealed the final matchday programme cover of the Jurgen Klopp era and fans can now order the 100-page souvenir edition.
Klopp's final game in charge of Liverpool will take place at Anfield when the Reds host Wolveson May 19 and the club have designed a fitting programme cover depicting three iconic Klopp fist-pumping poses for the occasion. The special edition programme will be sold at the ground on the final day of the 2024/25 Premier League season but can also be ordered online at the Liverpool store priced at £5.
The programme will feature a number of one-off features celebrating Klopp's trophy-laden tenure at the club.
It includes interviews with key members of Klopp's backroom team who are also departing Anfield, as well as the views of players including Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Alexis Mac Allister.

Klopp wanted Reds to retain pair
Jurgen Klopp wanted to keep two players at Liverpool last summer but the club released them instead. Was that a mistake?
The Times reports that Jurgen Klopp was at odds with Liverpool last summer over keeping two players. The German wanted the Reds to hold onto James Milner and Roberto Firmino despite them coming to the end of their contracts.
However, Liverpool decided not to. They let the pair leave for free, with Milner joining Brighton and Firmino heading to Al-Hilal.
