Real Madrid show interest in Liverpool target Leny Yoro
Real Madrid have shown interest in Lille defender and Liverpool target Leny Yoro as the teenager continues to impress in France.
The Reds have been touted with a potential move for the 18-year-old centre-back who has already made 36 appearances for Les Dogues, 15 of which have come in Ligue 1 this season.
Yoro has dazzled since breaking into the Lille first team and has been one of the key components in the club's impressive recent record. They currently find themselves fourth in the table and are unbeaten in 15 matches in all competitions following their 94th-minute equaliser against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.
Yoro, who was described by French football expert Adam White as playing with the "subtlety and maturity of a far more experienced centre-back", would reportedly set Liverpool back £43m.
The French U21 defender has kept eight clean sheets when starting in the league this campaign and has even found the back of the net on two occasions against Rennes and Liverpool's Europa League opponents Toulouse.
The Reds are joined in their admiration of the wonderkid by fellow Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United, as well as French champions PSG, but Spanish giants Real Madrid are also in the hunt to capture his signature according to Football Transfers.
Los Blancos have been handed a fresh injury blow after centre-back David Alaba tore his ACL at the weekend, while Eder Militao suffered the same problem right at the beginning of the season.
As a result, the La Liga side may move into the market this January to bring in a new central defender, with Yoro likely to be a name they're keeping an eye on.
Anfield Watch understands
that strengthening the defence will be the priority for Liverpool in 2024, with the Lille youngster one of a plethora of options for the Reds.
Liverpool have also been linked with the likes of Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP and Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.
