"Ready for the upcoming challenges" - Kostas Tsimikas on the 2022-23 campaign

Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas has revealed that the boys are ready for the 2022-23 campaign.

Last season, the Reds challenged for the quadruple. But, Jurgen Klopp's side could only secure the League Cup and FA Cup.

However, Tsimikas has claimed that the current pre-season programme is leaving the team in a good place to go again.

"Personally, I can't sleep before the training because if I sleep, I can't move. I try to relax myself, to chill, to watch some movies and to be ready mentally for the second session," he told the club's official website, as quoted by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

"If you've never done this pre-season, you can't feel us, you can't understand how tough that is. But at least the only thing it can give you after is to be 100 per cent ready for the challenges physically, because this is what we need at the moment.

"We have a very tough season and we have to be 100 per cent ready. It's very hard, as always. Very tough, very competitive. All the boys, we work very hard. We set our goals, like last year – we will go for it and that's why we work towards it.

"I think everybody is absolutely ready for the upcoming challenges and we are looking forward to it."

Anfield Watch Verdict

There is nothing better than seeing your team challenge on all fronts. With that being the case, hopefully the boys can once again show why they are one of the best teams in the world.

Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay this summer. Therefore, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has certainly not settled, which does not surprise us at all.

The German is a winner after all. Klopp has won six major trophies at Anfield. We can't wait to see what the 2022-23 campaign has in store for us. Only time will tell.
