As Anfield Watch revealed exclusively, Liverpool are planning a massive overhaul in attack which could see Hugo Ekitike come, with who the Reds have held talks with as we revealed exclusively as well.

On top of that the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold is also moot. It's not a done deal that he will leave for Real Madrid come the end of the season but it pretty much looks like it's going to happen.

Losing him will create a massive void when it comes to Liverpool creating chances. Already just in the last few games since he has been ruled out with an injury, the Reds have felt his absence.

Slot will need to replace that and the perfect choice might just well be Rayan Cherki, who incidentally already has a brilliant partnership with Ekitike.

Cherki's come and get me plea

Liverpool have been linked with Rayan Cherki a fair few times over the years. He's a player who has been highly rated ever since he emerged in French football at the age of 16.

Now 21-years-old, Cherki is proving he's way too good for Ligue 1 and ready to make the next step in his career.

In his last 10 matches for Lyon in Ligue 11, Cherki has scored five goals and registered six assists showcasing his talent and at the same time sending a massive come and get me plea to Liverpool and any other interested parties.

His contract expires at the end of the 2025/26 season, meaning he will have just one year left on his current deal. That will attract potential suitors massively, and Cherki's performances will only pique Liverpool's interest even more.

The technically forward attacker can use both feet equally comfortably. He can play out wide on the wings but his best role at Liverpool would be in the no.10 position, creating chances and scoring goals and operating in between the half spaces, where he thrives the most.

This is an area where Slot hasn't quite find his ideal player. Dominik Szoboszlai has been used as a makeshift no.10 and he's an important cog in this Liverpool machine but he's not the creative and goal-scoring no.10 that Slot has used in the past at Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar.

Cherki fits that profile a lot better.

For club and country this season in 41 games he has 13 goals and 21 assists. On top of that, if Liverpool do pursue a move for Ekitike, Cherki has developed an exciting partnership with the Frankfurt forward at U21 level for France.

In their last outing against England, Cherki scored once and registered two assists while Ekitike scored a hat-trick. Reuniting this duo at Anfield would be something else.

Cherki is crying out for a move like this and his performances show he is ready to make the next step, now it's time for Hughes to get his chequebook out and heed those come and get me pleas.
