From last minute winners, historical nights, to dominant performances, Liverpool have had some memorable games against Tottenham. Here are our top five games ranked against the Lilywhites.
5 - Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham 2020
A last-minute goal worthy of a full Anfield crowd. Roberto Firmino’s last-minute header during the COVID times proved to be incredibly important come the end of the season.
In an injury stricken season where Liverpool really struggled to gain any rhythm, every point mattered as they looked to secure Champions League status for the 21/22 campaign.
Firmino’s winner proved to be one of the huge results that aided Liverpool to edge their way into the top four on the final day of the Premier League season.
4 - Spurs 3-6 Liverpool 2024
This result frustratingly doesn’t highlight just how dominant Liverpool were. It was a joy to watch. Arne Slot’s Liverpool at their best.
Barring a five-minute switch-off with ten minutes to go, Spurs couldn’t cope with the Reds. And even then, we had the last laugh with Luis Diaz firing in a sixth.
3 - Spurs 0-5 Liverpool 2013
A blast from the past. A five star display, and Jon Flanagan firing one in the top corner in front of the away end.
The Luis Suarez days. One of many games where the Uruguayan ran the show.
2 - Liverpool 4-3 Tottenham 2023
A game that saw us fans experience every emotion possible.
A first-half of utter dominance, we went 3-0 up in the opening fifteen minutes. Surely no way back, right?
Not in Spurs’ book, they secured what looked like an extraordinary comeback completed by Anfield villain and former Evertonian Richarlison in the 93rd minute.
A goal that silenced Anfield. But only for a minute. Diogo Jota straight from kick-off pounced on a Lucas Moura error to fire a winner in at the Kop End.
From heartbreak to jubilation in the space of a minute.
1 - Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham 2019
There was only going to be one winner. The game that turned five into six. The game that made Liverpool the Kings of Europe once more.
Jurgen Klopp’s aim was to convert the doubters into believers, and after that night in Madrid, he’d achieved just that.
A Mo Salah penalty in the opening stages eased the nerves until the iconic Divock Origi secured the trophy with a world-class finish with his left foot in front of the travelling Kop.
A night for the history books.
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg game against Spurs is an 8pm GMT kick-off and will be broadcasted live on Sky Sports Football.
