Pundit Kris Boyd has compared Rangers to Liverpool.

The 39-year-old believes that the Glasgow-based team are "on par" with Liverpool in terms of size.

Boyd believes that the only difference between the two clubs is that the Reds can offer bigger wages to players.

“I know people will speak about the size of the clubs, and things like that,” he told Soccer Special on Sky Sports News.

“Rangers and Celtic are huge clubs, there are no doubts about it.

“But when you take into consideration, in terms of the money, I would imagine Mo Salah’s wages would be more than the whole of the starting XI for Rangers. That’s where it’s at.

“In terms of infrastructure, the club and size, then there’s no doubt that Rangers are on a par. But when you look at the wages, it’s almost impossible to compete.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Rangers are a big club, but there is no way that they are on par with Liverpool.

The reality is, the Reds are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Millions of people around the world go for Liverpool.

Rangers are well supported, but they certainly aren't followed to the same extent as the Reds.

On another note, Liverpool defeated the Scottish Premiership side 2-0 at Anfield in the Champions League earlier this week.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah found the back of the net on the night.

Liverpool will face Rangers again on the 12th of October at the Ibrox Stadium. We are looking forward to the fixture.
