Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has recently praised Reds forward Diogo Jota.

The club signed the Portugal international from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee of €44.70 million.

Since then, Jota has scored 30 goals and registered four assists in 61 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

Benitez implied that the 25-year-old's movements are a key reason why the striker has had success at Anfield.

As quoted by Football Italia, the Spaniard told Il Corriere dello Sport the following: “Diogo Jota who always makes the right movements."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We completely agree with Benitez's comments. Footage highlights that Jota is a lively forward, which means that he constantly puts himself in goalscoring positions.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp recently opened up on what makes the 25-year-old the player that he is.

“Exceptional player, exceptional boy,” said Klopp, as quoted by Euro Sport. “He has everything that a Liverpool player in this squad needs.

“He has the technical skills, he has the physical skills and he is very smart and can learn all the tactical stuff pretty quick.

“On top of that, he can play all three positions; in a 4-2-3-1 he could play as the 10. So, it is very helpful.

“He has the speed, has the desire to finish situations off really good. I think his goalscoring record is pretty impressive.”

We do believe that Jota has really taken to playing with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Footballers naturally lift their standards when they are surrounded by better players.

In terms of this season, Jota has been very good. The Portugal international has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.19.

Hopefully Jota can continue his good form and propel Liverpool towards a trophy or two this season.

The exciting thing about the striker is that he is still very young. With that being the case, he could represent the club for at least another five years.
