“Put Dele Alli into Liverpool" - Neil Warnock says Everton man would be good for Reds
Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock believes that Everton attacking midfielder Dele Alli would be a decent player for Liverpool.
For the most part, the 26-year-old was decent for Tottenham Hotspur. Alli scored 67 goals and registered 61 assists in 269 appearances for the club's first-team before joining Everton on a free transfer back in January.
However, the Englishman's form has been scratchy for a number of years, so it should come as no real shock that he has not been able to get going at Goodison Park.
Alli has not found the back of the net or secured an assist in six appearances for his new club.
But, Warnock is under the impression that the attacker would be able to get back to his best if he played for either Liverpool or Manchester City.
As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter and the Liverpool Echo, the 73-year-old said: “I think if you put Dele Alli into Liverpool or Man City’s team, then you would get a hell of a player out of him."It is important to note that Liverpool have not genuinely been linked with a move for Alli.
Anfield Watch Verdict
When you are surrounded by better players, you tend to lift your game. Therefore, Warnock is probably right, Alli could be a far better player at Anfield in comparison to Goodison Park.
Liverpool are streets ahead of Everton on the pitch. There is a reason why the Reds sit in second-place on the Premier League table and the Toffees are fighting relegation.
But, if we are being honest, Alli is not good enough to play for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool right now. The aforementioned figures back up that particular argument.
