The likes of Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch have all been left at home.

Instead, Slot will be calling up on his fringe players and youngsters in a tie where Liverpool only need a draw to guarantee first place and they have already guaranteed themselves a place in the next round of the competition.

This means there will be a golden opportunity for several young talents to make their mark in the first team - including a very promising defender.

Why Amara Nallo is in line to make his long-awaited Liverpool debut

The player in question is of course, 18 year old Nallo, who has been catching the eye in the Reds' academy since joining from West Ham United back in the summer of 2023.

He's also been on the periphery of the first team without ever making his debut for the club.

Nallo sat on the bench in the Premier League and the FA Cup under Jurgen Klopp, but never made an appearance. He also sat on the bench under Slot in the Premier League and the League Cup but he's still yet to make an appearance under the Dutchman as well.

So, it's been a long-time coming but against PSV, Nallo could finally get his big moment.

And it will be well deserved.

According to Wyscout, he has won 73.1% of his defensive duels and 63.3% of his aerial duels. Meanwhile, he also averages 3.77 interceptions and 11.58 recoveries per 90.

One of his biggest strengths is his ability on the ball. Nallo is very comfortable in possession and has 92.1% pass completion rate this season.

That's something that should help him settle into Liverpool much easier, considering Slot is very keen on using defenders who are able to progress the ball quickly and effectively into dangerous forward territories.

It's unlikely he will start given Wataru Endo and Jarell Quansah have both travelled with the squad and they are probably going to start as the two centre-backs in the game.

However, it's a strong possibility, Nallo could come on and make his bow in the first team. And if you're looking to catch him in action the game will be broadcasted live on TNT Sports 3.
