Paris Saint-Germain could sign Liverpool's Naby Keita to replace former Reds player Gini Wijnaldum.

According to a report from Guinea news outlet Imedias.net, PSG are ready to pay €50 million (£42.56 million) to sign Liverpool's Keita.

The Ligue 1 side have reportedly identified the Guinea captain as a replacement for Wijnaldum, whose future looks uncertain despite only joining the Ligue 1 side last summer.

Wijnaldum has failed to make an impact at PSG and the club don't seem too impressed with the Dutch international.

Luis Campos, who is set to become PSG's new sporting director, replacing Leonardo, is very keen on bringing Keita to the club this summer.

Anfield Watch Verdict

If PSG are offering €50 million for Keita then we shouldn't think twice about taking that. We signed the Guinea international for £54 million from RB Leipzig in 2018 and if we only sold him at a £12 million loss, then that's good business in my opinion.

Keita hasn't been the player we thought he would be. To acquire the aforementioned fee for someone whose contract is expiring at the end of the 2022-23 season would be terrific.

There are no hard feelings from Liverpool supporters towards Keita. We have just accepted that he can't stay fit long enough to make a lasting impact.

Since he signed for the Reds in 2018, Keita has only played 116 games.

At the end of the day, that's not good enough for a major signing. Jurgen Klopp needs someone who is readily available and Keita isn't that, unfortunately.

If we were to get €50 million for the Keita then we could sign a decent midfielder.

This is a huge summer for Keita. We could see him extend his stay at Liverpool or leave Anfield after four years.
