Predicted Liverpool lineup vs West Ham United as Reds chase Manchester City

Liverpool face West Ham United at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday and here is our predicted lineup for the game.

Liverpool are currently chasing down Manchester City in the Premier League title race. Jurgen Klopp's side are only six points behind them with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are sitting in 5th position, level on points with Manchester United, and a win for them at Anfield would go a long way to helping secure top four for the first time since 1985/86.

This is going to be a massive game for both clubs in the context of their respective seasons, so let's take a look at our Liverpool predicted lineup.

Alisson

Even though the Brazilian started against Norwich in the FA Cup on Wednesday, I expect Klopp to play his strongest team possible against the Hammers and that means Alisson in between the sticks.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

With 10 assists and two goals in the Premier League this season, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a massive focal point of this Liverpool side and if we want a good chance of beating David Moyes' side, then Trent has to play.

Ibrahima Konate

With Joel Matip set to miss out against West Ham due to an illness, the choice is between Joe Gomez or Ibrahima Konate.

I'm going with the Frenchman purely down to the fact that he has had more game time than Gomez this season and it will be a massive game so we need everyone to be as sharp as possible.

Virgil van Dijk

I mean, it's big Virgil van Dijk. We aren't going to keep him out of the team unless there is a serious issue, so he is definitely starting.

Andy Robertson

Similar to Trent, Andy Robertson is having an outstanding season. He has one goal and nine assists in the Premier League this campaign.

Even though Kostas Tsimikas has played amazing every time he has donned a Liverpool shirt, Klopp seems to have cemented him as the left-back for cup competitions. So Robbo starts for me.

Fabinho

Fabinho wasn't even in the squad against Norwich on Wednesday, so the Brazilian should be starting, barring any fresh injury concerns before kick-off.

Harvey Elliott

With Thiago Alcantara set to miss the game against West Ham due to an injury, it will either be Harvey Elliott or James Milner who replaces the Spaniard.

I'm going with the 18-year-old to start alongside Henderson as I think a midfield three of Fabinho, Hendo and Milner won't be as creative as we need it to be against the Hammers.

Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson only played 61 minutes in Liverpool's last fixture against Norwich. However, Klopp has been playing the Liverpool skipper in the big games this season and this is one of the biggest fixtures we have left in the Premier League season.

Mohamed Salah

If Liverpool want to win the Premier League this season then they're going to have to play Mohamed Salah every time he is available.

The Egyptian currently has 19 goals and 10 assists in the league this season and it's looking likely that he could extend those numbers against Moyes' side.

Diogo Jota

Despite being a doubt for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, Diogo Jota managed to make an appearance in the 80th minute to help Liverpool lift the title.

The forward also played 84 minutes against Norwich in the FA Cup fifth-round tie, so it looks like he is back to full fitness after his injury scare.

Sadio Mane

Luis Diaz or Sadio Mane will start in this position but I've gone for the AFCON winner purely down to it being one of the hardest games we have left this season.

If Diaz is needed then he can be such a threat off the bench and cause West Ham major issues that they won't know how to deal with.
